Sustainability in Sport is the brainchild of Gary Neville – the former Manchester United captain, England's most capped right back and now England coach. Gary was loyal to Manchester United for his entire career.
Over recent years, Gary's awareness and interest in environmental sustainability has seen him take significant steps in adapting and changing his lifestyle to reduce his personal environmental impact, including looking at his home and how he travels.
Gary founded Sustainability in Sport to combine these two key passions and then he met Dale who had the eco credentials and this seemed like the right time to launch Sustainability in Sport.

Dale Vince started Ecotricity in 1995, with a single wind turbine he had used to power an old army truck he called home on a hill near Stroud, in Gloucestershire.
Since then, Dale and his team have developed Ecotricity into a social enterprise business. The company is unique. They take the money their customers spend on their energy bills and use it to build new sources of renewable energy.
Dale has taken his passion and convictions into both motoring and sport. The launch of 'Nemesis', a fully electric sports supercar, has received much acclaim. And when his local football club, Forest Green Rovers, was threatened with closure he saved the day and bought the historic football club.
Plans for Forest Green Rovers involve the club becoming the most sustainable in the UK, if not the world. Providing local employment, the club has already stopped supplying meat products, with only sustainably-sourced fish on the menu. Plans are in place to embed renewable and low impact technologies throughout the stadium.
